RailMac’s tunnel rolling stock project employs a variety of advanced technologies. The vehicle positioning system is the core component, utilizing wireless signal strength (RSSI) or ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to determine the real-time location of vehicles within the tunnel, providing data support for intelligent scheduling. Additionally, the on-board terminal devices can receive scheduling instructions and provide voice prompts to remind drivers to yield or slow down.
Application Outcomes
In the tunnel project of Shanghai’s Airport Link Line, RailMac’s intelligent scheduling system has been successfully applied, achieving intelligent yielding of vehicles traveling in opposite directions within the tunnel, increasing transportation efficiency by 60%. The system also provides anti-rear-end collision reminders within a range of 50 to 200 meters, effectively enhancing the safety of vehicle transportation. Since its implementation in July 2022, the system has provided an average of 26 reminders per day, significantly improving the safety and efficiency of vehicle transportation within the tunnel.
